Reflections from Our First Gathering
Thank you for joining us on the Road to Negritude
A time was had.
Dear community,
This past weekend, we took our first steps on the Road to Negritude.
We created not just a gathering, but a space for stories, nuance, reflection, and Blackness in all its multiplicity.
We spoke of lineage and loss. Gender and joy. Identity in tension. Liberation in progress. We shared laughs and held each other in our tears. Every moment of this night was truly special.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in that space; whether you shared, witnessed, or simply held the energy with presence. The vulnerability and depth in that room is something that was truly meaningful!
The Road to Negritude series was created to ask: What happens when we make room for the full spectrum of Blackness across identities, geographies, and generations?
